Simon Petley - Director

Simon is lead consultant for Market Development, and has overall responsibility for business development at EnviroMarket, which he co-founded in 2005.

Simon started his working life as an aircraft engineer before swapping the aerospace industry for capital markets in 1996. As an emerging market fixed-income broker with Tradition UK he specialised in exotic corporate and government bonds. In 2002 sensing an opportunity in nascent environmental markets he took a brief break from the City in order to retrain, returning as Vice President of international carbon broker CantorCO2e.com, where he co-led business development in the emerging EU ETS.

Simon holds a Bachelor of Engineering Honours Degree from Kingston University and MSc in Environmental Technology from Imperial College London. He is an Associate of the UK Securities and Investment Institute and a Fellow of the Royal Society for the Arts and Manufacturing (RSA).

Jon Grayson - Director

Jon is lead consultant on Risk Assessment and Research Programmes, with overall responsibility for business operations at EnviroMarket.

Prior to 1998 he was a management consultant with Mars & Co in London advising Blue Chip firms on business strategy before embracing a career in finance as a cash equities research analyst with Donaldson Lufkin & Jenrette International (DLJ) with responsibility and coverage of global beverages. Following a refocus towards environmental markets and sustainable business models in 2002 he was project manager advising executives in the UK health service on turnkey strategies before co-founding EnviroMarket with Simon in 2005.

Jon holds a first class BSc in Manufacturing Engineering from Durham University, a postgraduate from Cambridge University and an MSc in Environmental Technology (Imperial College) where he was awarded the ERM prize for his research on win-win business models for sustainability. Jon is fluent in French.
